The MircoMount Extreme Range (MMER) traffic signal preemption
transmitter is equipped to give the user real time feedback
on the operation of the vehicle's preemption system. Diagnostic
features are available to the user only when the MMER is
installed according to the Complete Installation Diagram
(see Wiring
Diagrams). The MMER sends specific flashing sequences
to an installed panel lamp or illuminated switch to display
diagnostic information to the user. Diagnostic codes include:
|
 |
|
Rapid Double Flash -
This diagnostic sequence indicates that the MMER is not
supplying sufficient power to the strobe emitter. The most
likely cause is because the power supply to the MMER is
insufficient for proper operation. Check that the proper
size wires (see Wiring Harness - Individual
Wire Identification) have been used to supply power
to the unit and that the vehicle's electrical system is
working properly.
|
 |
|
Rapid Triple Flash -
This diagnostic sequence indicates that the strobe emitter
is failing to operate properly. As strobes approach or reach
their operational life, failure to flash (or discharge)
is a common occurrence. Replace the strobe emitter to correct
the problem.
|
 |
|
Rapid Quadruple Flash
- This diagnostic sequence indicates that
both failure modes listed above have occured (rapid double
flash and rapid triple flash). Check the power supply to
the MMER and replace the strobe emitter.
|
 |
|
Constant Rapid Flashing
- This diagnostic sequence indicates that
the MMER has temporarily suspended operation due to extreme
temperature and has entered High Temperature Disable Mode
(see Modes of Operation). This diagnostic will occur regardless
of whether the MMER in the Disable mode or not
